Conditions of use
Reviewed 31 October 2026. Written for thebooksea.com, and about this house alone. It is not a template and not a copy of another.
Adults only
What is described here is a house containing one gaming room. The French age for such a room is 18. Anyone younger is refused at the door and should not be reading this section.
No play takes place on this site
thebooksea.com receives no wager, maintains no account and moves no funds. No game is run from these pages and no software is distributed by them. All of it happens in the cellar at 7 rue de la Pie qui Boit.
Accuracy
The hours and the numbers are kept current and can be out on the day itself: a table closed, a room out of use, the rampart shut for weather. Nothing here constitutes an offer. A reservation exists from the moment we have confirmed it to you ourselves.
Our material
The text, the photographs and the drawings on this site belong to the house. A short quotation is welcome when it carries a link back. The photographs and the drawings may not be reproduced, nor attributed to anybody else.
Links elsewhere
Where this site points at a tide table or a ferry, that is for convenience. What stands at the far end of a link is outside our control.
In the house
Staff may refuse entry to the cellar, the counter or the house, and may ask anybody to leave, without giving a reason. It is almost always drink. It is not a negotiation. The kitchen serves once.
The tide
Nothing on this site is a tide table. The table in the hall is the official one and the causeways close when it says they close. People are cut off on the islands here every year and some of them are rescued and some of them are not.
This website
Static documents on a commercial host. It is unavailable from time to time and no undertaking is given against it.
Where responsibility lies
We answer for what we get wrong inside the house. Liability for loss following from use of this site is excluded so far as French law allows. Statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
Law and forum
These conditions are governed by French law, and the Tribunal judiciaire de Saint-Malo has jurisdiction.
